Lights shine for victims

In a brief but intense display, football fans illuminated Hooper Stadium late Friday with 4,200 glow sticks to “shed a light in the dark” for domestic violence awareness.

The activity was one of several events hosted by the Domestic Violence Awareness and Sexual Assault Coalition in October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The event is the first of its kind in Nevada County, said DVSAC Senior Victim Advocate Linda Neely.
