Light Grass Valley City Council meeting expected today

Today’s meeting of the Grass Valley City Council is poised to be brief.

No presentations are planned, nor are any public hearings or administrative matters, according to the agenda for today’s meeting that was disseminated Friday.

The only matters on the agenda are eight consent items, which are passed in one sweeping vote as those matters are deemed as routine enough not to require discussion.

The lightweight agenda comes after nearly two months of matters stemming from the sudden and unexpected resignation of former City Administrator Dan Holler in late August and the ensuing transition toward a city manager form of governance.

The only other matter before the council is a discussion with legal counsel on anticipated litigation — a talk that will be conducted behind closed doors.

Today’s meeting will be the first officiated by interim City Manager Jeff Foltz since he was appointed to that position at the council’s Oct. 8 meeting.

The public portion of today’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers of Grass Valley City Hall, located at 125 E. Main St.
