Letter sent to Dan Logue

Dear Assemblyman Logue,

My name is Mindy Oberne and I co-chair the Nevada Country Chapter Health Care For All. We support legislation SB810, single payer for all Californians.

I know you have voted against SB810 in the past. Mr. McClintock’s response to SB810 was he didn’t want “socialized medicine, rationing of care, a bureaucrat between patient and doctor.” These are common phrases from our opposition.

I’ve made a video for you with Bill Moyers’ interviewing Wendell Potter, ex-vice president of Cigna’s Communications Division in charge of Public Relations. He states that those sentiments which I’ve mentioned above, were his creation for Cigna and their lobbyists. If your reason for not supporting SB810 is similar to Mr. McClintock’s, I think it’s important that you know where that information originates.

I speak for my chapter which has doubled our membership in the last two months, and will continue to grow exponentially especially in light of the new mandate imposed upon us by the federal reform bill to buy the defective product we call health insurance. We hope you will reconsider your position once you’ve viewed the DVD I’ve left you.

Mindy Oberne
