Law enforcement receives its due

At Friday’s Law and Order Night at the Nevada City Elks Lodge, Nevada County District Attorney Cliff Newell honors retired District Attorney Mike Ferguson, left, and Assistant District Attorney Ron Wolfson. The purpose of the event was to honor law enforcement personnel from the Nevada City, Grass Valley and Truckee police departments; the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office; the Nevada County Probation Department; the California Highway Patrol offices in Truckee and Grass Valley and the Nevada County Office of the District Attorney.

The event’s master of ceremonies was Captain Lee Osborne of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, its chairperson was attorney Yolanda Bachtell and its guest speaker was Nevada County Superior Court Chief Executive Officer Sean Metroka.
