Last-minute help available for voters

Nevada County polling places for today’s primary election open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Voters who need last-minute assistance to locate their polling places can turn to the Internet for answers.



Voters can go to http://www.election.co.nevada.ca.us./polling_place_lookup.htm and fill out the polling places form to find the poll assigned to their address.




Voters who don’t have Internet access can call the county Elections Office at 265-1298.

Absentee ballots – in their special absentee-ballot return envelope signed by the voter – must be received at the Elections Office or any polling place by 8 p.m.

The Elections Office issued 11,400 absentee ballots, and as of Monday night 7,400 had been returned.

Voters who missed the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot and cannot go to the polls can vote before 8 p.m. at the Elections Office, 10433 Willow Valley Road, Suite E, Nevada City.

Nevada County’s voter registration total for today’s election is 58,310, according to the Secretary of State.

Election results will be available at http://www.election.co.nevada.ca.us, after 9 p.m. and updated every 30 to 45 minutes.
