Last chance for input on mental health funding

A public hearing from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Madelyn Helling Library in Nevada City is the last chance for input on Nevada County’s plan to spend more than $1 million in new state funds on mental health services.

The hearing will be teleconferenced to Truckee, videotaped for broadcast on Channel 11, NCTV, and broadcast live on KVMR, 89.5 FM.

Funding will come from a new tax on millionaires approved by voters in 2004 as Proposition 63. Now called the Mental Health Services Act, Prop 63 calls for consumer and family driven programs.

The proposal is at http://www.my nevadacounty.com/bh
