KVMR dedicates day to MLK

To celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Nevada City-based community radio station KVMR will be airing a variety of special programming and hosting an annual performance by the Bethel AME Church Choir.

The Marysville-based choir’s free performance runs from noon to 2 p.m. at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City, and attendees are asked to show up early for the show, which often is filled to capacity.

Along with the 23rd annual performance, KVMR will feature programming about civil rights throughout the day, including an interview with Van Jones, executive director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights.

For a full schedule of the station’s events Monday, visit http://www.kvmr.org on the Web.
