Kudos – to a good Samaritan

I want to personally thank the Good Samaritan driving by the Holiday Lodge on Sunday, Jan. 24, who took the time to look up our number and call to tell us that we had a fire in the chimney of the house. With that call and the quick thinking on the part of Gloria Salazar, head of maintenance, all danger was averted.

The Grass Valley Fire Department on Sierra College Drive made a rapid response, did their inspection and commended my employee for a job well done. Dale Patton of Tops & Tails Chimney Sweep did a superb job of cleaning out the flammable gunk making the stove ready to use once again.

My heartfelt thank you goes out to all of you.

Janet Douglas

Resident Manager, Holiday Lodge
