I wish to thank all the people at the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, the nurses, doctors, technicians and finance department, for all they have done to help me heal from my injury. I received great care and the people were wonderful. The hospital is a truly excellent example of our great community and how it cares for its citizens. Thank you Blue Shield Insurance for your thoughtful and expedited service. Thank you to my son Trevor for getting me there in one piece and for the expedited admission at Emergency. Though I don’t remember the first day very much.

Bob and Julie Medlyn from The Beam Easy Living Center rock! From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank you for your generous donation of $5,000 from the 49er Rotary Duck Race. We are so grateful to you for making this possible and are excited about the possibilities that the additional funds will afford us. Thank you for supporting us and being a good neighbor. Businesses like yours make living in a small town the blessing it is and we will always try and support those at home who help those at home. May God bless you.

Anew Day

Grass Valley

The 200-plus members of Friends of Hospice would like to thank the Nevada County community for giving of their time and financial support to attend our Side by Side event on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the River Highlands Ranch. We would also like to give thanks to our many sponsors who so graciously supported the event financially. All of the monies go directly to the Hospice of the Foothills. It truly was a magical evening with guest performer Jane Rivar singing, and Antonio Ayestaran preparing delicious appetizers.

I am writing this to let the community know about E.L.Wood Electric Co. On a recent Sunday we had major electrical house problems. After calling many electricians, Mr. Wood was the only one to offer to come at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

He finished the work on Monday morning and the price was right. His work is honest and very professional.

If you need a licensed electrician, he is listed in the Grass Valley phone book under “Electric Contractors.”
