July Fourth celebrations ready for you to enjoy

Fourth of July celebrations begin at 11 a.m. with a mile-long parade in downtown Grass Valley, including marching bands, antique vehicles, fire engines, floats and clowns.

Marie Johnson, owner of Foothill Flowers in downtown Grass Valley, will be honored as grand marshal of the 2007 Fourth of July Parade.

For a good vantage point, parade attendees should arrive by 10:30 a.m.

After the parade, the Nevada County Fairgrounds will open the gates at 3 p.m. All parking, including disabled parking, is at gate 4 at the fairgrounds and costs $3.

Food, craft booths and entertainment will be provided. The day will end with the annual fireworks display, which begins at 9:30 p.m.

Admission is $8 for adults. Children 12 and under can get in free.
