The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office got a call at 8:34 a.m. Monday from a person on the 18000 block of Excelsior Road reporting a man cursing at trees. The caller called back to say the man was saying he’d start a fire on the property.

Later, the Sheriff’s Office got a call from the 100 block of Lower Grass Valley Road at 4:03 p.m., about a man chasing a 9-year-old child in a store. The caller said the man raised a chair over his head and broke a part of the chair.

On Monday evening, a woman called from the 10000 block of Henson Way and reported receiving harassing calls from an unknown person in Kentucky. She said the incident was possibly related to an e-bay transaction. Officers contacted the woman and told her to set up security measures for her phone and contact e-bay.
