A hike is planned Saturday by environmental activists who are tree-sitting in Sierra County to oppose logging by Sierra Pacific Industries along the Pacific Crest Trail.

Participants will meet at 8:30 a.m. at Pioneer Park in Nevada City and car pool to the PCT trailhead near Sierra City.

Then they’ll hike two to three miles on the PCT to Milton Creek, where a tree sitter is perched in a giant Douglas fir tree.
