Harvest Festival pumpkin patch popular

Gray skies and raindrops didn’t dampen spirits at this year’s Home and Harvest Festival. Children zipped through a hay maze and enjoyed pumpkin painting despite the weather at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.

The crowds were lighter than normal this year, organizers said.

A number of local home vendors ringed the fairgrounds and offered product demonstrations and samples. The Union sponsored the annual event, which highlights area businesses and features do-it-yourself demonstrations for the home.
