GV police seek ID for body

Grass Valley police are trying to identify the body of an apparent suicide victim found Tuesday off Idaho-Maryland Road.

“At this point, there is no evidence of foul play,” Capt. Greg Hart said.

He described the body as a male 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was in his mid- to late-20s and had numerous tattoos, including a fish on one shoulder and an Indian on the other.

Hart said he was either a “lightly complected Hispanic male or moderately complected white male.”

An elderly couple on the 800 block of Idaho-Maryland Road reported finding the body at 9:45 a.m..

The Sheriff’s Office, which handles coroner cases, said the man had possibly hanged himself.
