GV man, 28, held for alleged kidnapping

A Grass Valley man accused of assaulting his girlfriend and holding her captive during a 16-hour period last weekend was arrested Tuesday, according to Grass Valley police.

Jesse Greenhaw, 28, was arrested at about 1 a.m. at a home off Highway 49, south of Grass Valley, and booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on suspicion of kidnapping, battery, criminal threats and false imprisonment, and allegedly violating parole. He’s being held without bail.

Capt. Greg Hart said Greenhaw allegedly repeatedly assaulted and threatened the woman between Friday night and Saturday afternoon at a Dorsey Drive home. She briefly escaped, but Greenhaw dragged her back into the home, and he eventually left, according to Hart.

The woman reported the incident at 6:30 p.m. Monday, about the time she was treated for injuries from the alleged attack at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She was later released.
