Grass Valley officials announce support for Fouyer

Current and former Grass Valley officials are supporting Planning Commission Chairman Jason Fouyer in his bid for one of two open Grass Valley City Council seats in November.

City Council members Yolanda Cookson, Jan Arbuckle and Mayor Lisa Swarthout announced their support of Fouyer last week.

He’s also backed by Planning Commissioner and former mayor Patti Ingram-Spencer, former mayor Mark Johnson, Planning Commission Vice Chairman Daniel Swartzendruber, Nevada County District 3 Supervisor John Spencer (Patti Ingram-Spencer’s husband) and Grass Valley Downtown Association Executive Director Howard Levine.

Fouyer previously served on the city’s parks and recreation commission. He is running against incumbent Dan Miller and challengers Pat Tureaud and Ed Yarborough.
