Grass Valley man arrested twice in 2 days

A Grass Valley man who had just bailed out of county jail on stolen property and drug charges was arrested again Friday afternoon after allegedly burglarizing a downtown Grass Valley residence.

Brandon Michael Sinnock, 24, had been arrested Thursday morning after allegedly breaking into his family’s residence to sleep and being found with stolen items.

He had been released from Wayne Brown Correctional Facility after posting $12,500 bail, according to jail records.

On Friday afternoon, a resident of the 100 block of Murphy Street called 911 at 4:12 p.m. to report that employees of a nearby gas station called him to tell him his personal items had been found in the bathroom, along with suspect information in the burglary.

Sinnock was identified by witnesses as the suspect in the burglary and the theft of items, including three firearms, said Grass Valley Police Sgt. Joe Matteoni.

He was located by police near Memorial Park and all three guns were recovered, Matteoni said.

Sinnock was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, possession of stolen property and drug paraphernalia, committing a felony while on bail and violating probation. By Sunday morning, he had again been released from custody after posting $11,750 bail.

Sinnock’s Thursday arrest came after Grass Valley police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Conaway Avenue at about 8:20 a.m.

Family members reported that they believed Sinnock — who was no longer welcome at the residence — had broken into the house, coming in through a window, and was sleeping in a locked bedroom. He was allegedly found asleep on the floor with pills and needles, as well as a cell phone and a wallet allegedly stolen from unlocked vehicles.

Court records show 11 separate misdemeanor cases against Sinnock dating back to 2007. The most recent case charged him with petty theft for a May 9 arrest. He also was arrested in March on suspicion of petty theft, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia; and in February for possessing drug paraphernalia.

In October 2012, Sinnock was arrested twice in the same day, allegedly for trying, and eventually succeeding, in stealing items from parked vehicles.
