Grass Valley man allegedly had meth hidden in iced tea can

Nevada County Sheriff Department |

A Grass Valley man was arrested after a traffic stop Thursday when police officers reportedly found more than 25 grams of methamphetamine hidden in an iced tea can.

A Grass Valley police officer on routine patrol pulled over a Cadillac on East Main Street and Catalpa Lane at about 8:20 p.m. for minor driving and equipment violations, said Sgt. Steve Johnson.

A man riding in the car was identified as Augustin Paul Bisiaux, 41, and he was found to be on probation with search and seizure terms.

“Fortunately, a California Highway Patrol officer was on duty with a K-9 and was able to assist with the search,” Johnson said.

Officers located an Arizona iced tea can with a false lid and a hidden compartment, which reportedly contained two hypodermic needles and numerous small baggies with more than 25 grams of meth.

According to Johnson, meth sells for about $100 a gram.

Bisiaux allegedly admitted the meth belonged to him and was taken into custody.

Officers then reportedly found about $500 in small bills on Bisiaux.

He was booked into county jail on suspicion of transporting and possessing a controlled substance for sale, possessing drug paraphernalia and violating probation. He was being held without bail.
