Grass Valley garage fire

Grass Valley firefighters were able to quickly contain a garage fire on Deer Park Drive Wednesday afternoon.

Fire units responded to the 12000 block of Deer Park Drive at about 12:30 p.m. due to a report of a passenger vehicle fire inside the garage, according to a press release by Battalion Chief Steve Smith.

The vehicle was found to be in the driveway, fully involved, and the two-car detached garage was also on fire.

According to the owner, the vehicle had caught fire inside the garage. He was able to push it outside, but the garage was already in flames.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage and no damage was done to the residence, Smith said.

Crews remained on the scene for about one hour; no injuries were reported.
