Grass Valley Council to hold meeting on city project

The Grass Valley City Council will hold a special “Visioning Meeting” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to gather community input on future projects.

“Over the last year and a half, the city is focusing on really developing its operation and financial fundamentals. With most of that in place, we are turning to the council for a work plan on where they want us to go,” said City Manager Bob Richardson. “This is going to be the first of several meetings that will culminate in June as part of the overall budget package for the year,”

Although the special meeting is an initial conversation between the city and the department heads, Richardson said public comments are welcome.

In other businesses, during Tuesday’s regular city council meeting, bids will be opened on a project to repave portions of Brunswick Road. Director of Public Works and City Engineer Tom Kiser said city officials will decide on the lowest responsible bidder during the city council meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The city has set aside $350,000 for the project, Kiser said.
