Grass Valley ATV rider critically injured off Greenhorn Creek

A Grass Valley man was critically injured Saturday in a solo ATV accident near Greenhorn Creek, and was flown to a Roseville hospital.

Jesse Williams, 38, was riding a Suzuki quad off You Bet Road, heading toward the creek on a gravel road, at about 6:30 p.m., although the exact time of the accident is not known, said California Highway Patrol spokesman Greg Tassone.

Williams, who reportedly was not wearing a helmet, possibly made an unsafe maneuver and the quad overturned and landed on top of him.

He was found by another driver some time later, Tassone said. His injuries reportedly included head injuries, possible internal injuries and lacerations, and he was flown by CalStar to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. He remains in serious condition and is in the neurotrauma unit, Tassone said Monday morning.
