Funny Fridays set at Holbrooke Hotel’s Iron Door

Comedy will be performed live in the Iron Door at the Holbrooke Hotel in Grass Valley at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept. 24.

Myk Powell and Bob Fernandez will take the stage Friday, Sept. 10. Powell is a 20 year veteran of comedy. He has performed at The L.A. Improv, The Punchline, Comedy Time, and other comedy clubs all across the U.S. He headlined the Comedy Stop in Las Vegas and and produced a radio show in Guam.

Fernandez, formerly of Grass Valley, won his first comedy competition in 1991 at B&D’s in downtown Grass Valley. The very next week he won the North Lake Tahoe Comedy Competition. Since then, he has headlined Arco Arena Comedy Explosion, nominated for a Cable Ace Award, featured for Sha Na Na, Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, Sinbad, George Carlin and many others. He also started the IronDoor Comedy Club at the Holbrooke Hotel in 1995.



Friday, Sept. 24 will feature Tom Clark and Phillip Medina.

Clark has headlined Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and recently taped the new NBC sitcom “Outsourced.” He headlines comedy clubs across the U.S. His closing bit has been called the “best in the business” by comics and comedy writers nationwide.




Medina is a regular at The San Jose Improv and just returned from the Icehouse, Laff Factory and Comedy Store in L.A.

The show is for those 21 and older. $10 tickets are available at the Holbrooke.
