Fundraiser to benefit health, nonprofit

The Pilates Place owner Roxanna Cohen is a celebrity dancer for The Center’s fundraiser “Dancing with Our Stars,” and a Pilates instructor trainer for Polestar Pilates. Through her participation in the fundraising dance event, Cohen decided to offer the community a chance to benefit as well as the Center for the Arts.

“My current teacher training group is taking their exit exam the first week in August and would love to have more people for them to practice their teaching,” said Cohen.

“What we are offering is a one on one session with a trainer who will do a fitness screen and take you through a customized Pilates session that will give you an experience on each piece of Pilates equipment. A lot of people have experience with Pilates Mat or Reformer classes but have never had a private session or worked on the other equipment.”

This type of session would typically cost between $65 and $90, Cohen added. These sessions are being offered for a donation in the amount of your choice with $20 being the suggested minimum amount. All proceeds go to the Center for the Arts to bring top quality entertainment to our region and build community through the arts. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go towards The Center’s capital campaign to raise funds to bring ADA access to the main theatre and stage.”

Appointments can be booked by calling The Pilates Place at 530-477-5167 through Aug. 3.
