Join Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and the Center for the Arts as they present “Fundamentally Female” with Reneé Rongen, author and inspirational speaker, as part of the Laughter is the Best Medicine series from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 17.

Sassy and soulful, brazen and bright, “Fundamentally Female” is a presentation with Rongen, an acclaimed speaker and storysmith. It takes you on a side-splitting safari to hunt and capture the elusive, universal spirit of Every Woman.

Sharply perceptive, Rongen’s message is upbeat and unforgettable, the perfect blend of stand-up comedy and audience participation — empowering audiences to become architects of their own lives.

Rongen is the author of “Fundamentally Female,” released in October 2012, which has won many regional and national book awards. This event also includes a book signing.

“Reneé understands the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is coming to Grass Valley to support this cause,” says SNMH Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Debbie Plass. “Renee makes laughter really good medicine as her topic covers the (gamut) from marriage and motherhood to midlife and menopause — making you laugh until you cry!”

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, proceeds from this event will benefit SNMH’s Women’s Imaging Center for cancer prevention an screening programs.

Tickets include a boxed lunch by Emily’s Catering for a minimum donation of $30 per ticket.

To purchase tickets, call the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley at 530-274-8384 or order online at http://thecenterforthearts.org.
