Friends of the military hold packing party – Slide show included

Friends of Nevada County Military is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization with the sole purpose of sending a strong message of support from the county community to deployed and returning troops and their families.

FNCM does this by sending support packages, phone cards, and letters to deployed troops; providing support to service men and women re-entering our community after completing military service; supporting troops who have been hospitalized; and providing a support group for families of service men and women who live in our community.

The group has more than 100 members including family members, friends and neighbors of service men and women, veterans of former conflicts, and members of the community who are looking for a way to support our troops.

If you know anyone in the military and would like him or her to receive support from the group, call Dave Aldous (272-3516) or Fred Buhler (265-4878) or contact them via e-mail at or visit the Web site at online.
