Fowlers honored for community work

Charles and CeCe Fowler were honored as Business Persons of the Year at the 95th awards and installation banquet of the Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The Fowlers, owners of B & C True Value Home Center and Fowler Center in Grass Valley, were cited for their extensive involvement in the community.

“This family has given so much to our community … serving on boards, volunteering and making so many contributions to our community,” said City Councilwoman Patti Ingram in presenting the award.

Citizens Bank of Nevada County was named Business of the Year for its involvement in renovation of the Del Oro Theatre and the Center for the Arts, remodeling of the Holbrooke Hotel, and other projects.

Tom Haifley, owner of Banner Mountain Tax Service, was named the Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year. Bob Breck, CEO/general manager of Nevada County Broadcasters, will serve as chairman of the board for 2005.
