Former sheriff re-appointed to state Parole Board

Former Nevada County Sheriff Troy Arbaugh has been re-appointed to the California State Board of Parole. The appointment was made by Governor Schwarzenegger.

The 62-year-old Arbaugh served as sheriff from 1995 to 1999, before serving as a consultant on public safety issues starting in 2000 with Abbey Group Consultants, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation website, http://www.cdcr.ca.gov.

Arbaugh is one of 12 commissioners on the board. He has served on the commission since 2008. The position requires Senate confirmation and comes with a salary of $111,845 annually.
