Former sheriff re-appointed to state Parole Board

Former Nevada County Sheriff Troy Arbaugh has been re-appointed to the California State Board of Parole. The appointment was made by Governor Schwarzenegger.

The 62-year-old Arbaugh served as sheriff from 1995 to 1999, before serving as a consultant on public safety issues starting in 2000 with Abbey Group Consultants, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation website,

Arbaugh is one of 12 commissioners on the board. He has served on the commission since 2008. The position requires Senate confirmation and comes with a salary of $111,845 annually.
