Forest management topic of LWV panel

A four-member community panel will discuss national forest management Saturday at the meeting of the League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County.

The meeting will be at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 W. Main St., Grass Valley. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. The program will begin at 10 a.m.



Steve Eubanks is the Tahoe National Forest supervisor and has had a forest service career covering 31 years with extensive work in ecosystem management.




Chad Hanson is the executive director of the John Muir Project of Earth Island Institute and a national director of the Sierra Club.

Alan Stahler writes a weekly science column for The Union and teaches biology and earth sciences at Bitney Springs Charter High School.

Bruce E. Van Zee is a consultant for the American Forest Resource Council and a member of the Natural Heritage 2020 Citizens Advisory Committee.
