Flag decorates new building

The American flag blows in the wind atop the new Hills Flat Lumber Co. building nearing completion on Railroad Avenue in Grass Valley. The building’s architecture evokes a mining operation from the area’s earlier era, and the ladder-like structure reproduces the mining head frame used to lower miners into the underground shafts and bring up gold-bearing ore.
