Fires blaze in Placer, Yuba counties

Crews from the local Calfire unit are battling a 500-acre blaze near Lincoln that had forced some neighborhoods to evacuate Monday, according to the state Calfire Web site, http://www.fire.ca.gov/

The Gladding Fire was 60 percent contained at of 10 p.m. Monday. All evacuations have been lifted, with the exception of the area along Virginiatown Road. An evacuation center has been set up at Coppin Elementary School, Calfire reported.

In Yuba County, about 250 people evacuated an area between Linda and Olivehurst late Monday when fire erupted north of the Yuba County Airport, according to a report from MSNBC. About 100 acres have burned so far.
