Firefighters battle Iowa Hill blaze

Firefighters from multiple agencies continued to battle a vegetation fire off Iowa Hill Road Monday afternoon and evening.

The fire in Placer County was reported at 1:21 p.m. and had grown to 25 acres by 4:30 p.m.

The brushfire was described as difficult to access and in steep terrain.



Firefighters responded from Cal Fire, Placer Hills, Peardale-Chicago Park, Auburn and Tahoe National Forest.

At 2:49 p.m., there were nine engines, two air tankers, three hand crews and two dozers from Cal Fire, as well as engines from three other agencies.




The fire was reported as being 25 percent contained as of 4:30 p.m.

No injuries had been reported.
