Financial help for owners, renters

The State of California offers qualified homeowners and renters financial assistance through their Homeowners and Renters Assistance Program.

A once-a-year payment is made to qualified individuals based on part of the property taxes assessed and paid on their homes, which they rent or own.

HelpLine Information and Assistance is making local appointments for homeowners or renters applying for the assistance program. During these appointments, HelpLine supplies the necessary application forms and, if requested, offers free assistance in filling out the forms.



To be eligible for this program you must be:

• A United States citizens or designated alien




• 62 years of age (or older) or blind or disabled.

• Have a total household income of $42,770 or less.

For more details about this program, call HelpLine at 273-2273. Appointments are scheduled on Mondays between July 9 and Aug. 13.
