Falling tree causes power outage for 280 homes in Grass Valley

A power outage early Sunday afternoon left about 280 PG&E customers in Grass Valley in the dark.

The outage was reported at 1:42 p.m. after a tree fell on a power line, said Jacqueline Ratto, a PG&E spokesperson. The outage affected customers in the area of McCourtney Road southwest of Auburn Road, including those near Thoroughbred Loop and Larkspur Lane.

Power was expected to be restored to the area by 6:45 p.m., Ratto said.
