Fall Festival: The Ghosts of Bridgeport Return

To kick off your Halloween adventures, the South Yuba River Park Association and the South Yuba River State Park invite you to the Bridgeport Fall Festival at the South Yuba River State Park on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The park will come alive with fun, food, games and music.

The Ghosts of Bridgeport return to tell their own stories of life along the South Yuba River. Mark Lyon, the Ghost Tour Guide from Nevada City and Grass Valley, will call on several of the ghosts of the area to tell of their lives in the late 1800s.

The day’s activities will include music by Michael Bremer and Rush Creek, living history characters, hay rides, barn tours, crafts, face painting, gold panning, pumpkin painting and other activities for kids of all ages.

Food and drink will be available from vendors, including Culture Shock Yogurt, June’s Deli and the Penn Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Attending the Fall Festival is a great way to experience one of our local treasures.

The South Yuba River State Park at Bridgeport is on Pleasant Valley Road where it crosses the South Yuba River. For more information call the Visitor Center at 432-2546, or visit the website, southyubariverstatepark.org.
