Fairgrounds closed, Taj Mahal canceled

The Nevada County Fairgrounds and offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for public safety in anticipation of another storm, fair officials said Wednesday. The fairgrounds’ closure means the Grass Valley Senior Center, the Tall Pines Nursery School and the Argosy School will be closed those days as well. A concert featuring eclectic musician Taj Mahal, scheduled for Thursday night at the fairgrounds’ main building, has also been cancelled.

The last closure of the fairgrounds occurred during the 49er Fire in 1988, when the Gate 4 entry was used as a staging area.
