Fair Hall of Fame nominations due

Nominations are being taken until May 1 for the 2002 inductees to the Nevada County Fair’s Hall of Fame.

To nominate an individual, write the candidate’s name and a brief summary of his or her contributions to the fair or fairgrounds. Previous Hall of Fame inductees have included volunteers, exhibitors and concessionaires.

In 2001, C.K. “Kay” Heffren was inducted into the Hall of Fame for organizing volunteer labor and equipment to construct Lion Lake. Heffren was a former member of the Grass Valley Lions Club.

Also selected for honors last year were Bob and Marge Paasch for their work with FFA; and Darlene Moberg, avid exhibitor and member of the fair board of directors.

Send nominations to Hall of Fame, Fairgrounds Office, P.O. Box 2687, Grass Valley CA 95945; or deliver them to the office at 11228 McCourtney Road by May 1. For more information, call 273-6217. The 2002 Nevada County Fair is from Aug. 7-11.
