Explanation of provisional ballot incorrect

An information box on page A8 of Saturday’s paper incorrectly explained a provisional ballot as one used by voters who moved out of the county, returned, but did not re-register, thus needing to prove residency. The box should have said that provisional ballots are for voters registered within a county who move to a different address within that particular county, and therefore must provide proof of their new residence before they can vote at their new polling place.
