Election day around the corner

With election day looming vote-by-mail voters only have a few more days to get their ballots in.

While ballots can be dropped off at polling places Tuesday, Nov. 2, and the Nevada County Elections Office sweeps all the county’s post offices for ballots at the end of election day, those don’t get counted until the official canvass to certify the election, according to the elections office.

So far, of the 43,353 ballots issued, 17,276 have been returned, 6,059 registered Democrat and 8,037 Republican.
