Drivers suffer minor injuries after crash

Two drivers suffered minor injuries from their collision on the Golden Center Freeway’s Empire Street overpass Friday.

A 1978 Cadillac DeVille, driven by 56-year-old Wayne Darr of Penn Valley, was struck broadside by a Dodge van driven by Brett LaCasse, 42, of Grass Valley, according to Grass Valley Police Officer Scott Telles. Both drivers were treated at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and released.



The crash was reported at 3:42 p.m., and police responded with Sierra Nevada Ambulance, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and Grass Valley and Nevada County Consolidated firefighters.
