Doolittle gets funding

House Republican Conference Secretary John Doolittle announced Friday that he has secured funding for the Fourth Congressional District in the Interior spending bill approved by the House Thursday.

“I’m please to announce that I’ve been able to secure funding to help improve our district’s environmental and cultural infrastructure, support our local timber industry and to prevent the risk of catastrophic forest fire,” Doolittle, R-Roseville, stated in a media release.

Among the projects Doolittle noted were:

• $1.5 million for Placerville’s Hangtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant

• $500,000 for the Colfax Wastewater Treatment Plant

• $1 million for South Lake Tahoe forest fire protection

• $100,000 for restoration of the Oroville State Historic Theatre

• $100,000 for restoration of the historic Meagher House in Gold Bug Park

• $300,000 for conservation of the Pacific Fisher within the northern Sierra Nevada
