Dogs Run Free of Nevada County releases 2014 calendar
In celebration of its second anniversary, Dogs Run Free of Nevada County announces the release of the 2014 dog park calendar.
Sponsored by local businesses, the 12-month calendar features professional photographs of dogs who visit the park plus coupons for discounts at community merchants. All proceeds from calendar sales go to dog park operations, including the purchase of supplies, repairs and maintenance, insurance and other costs.
The calendar may be purchased:
— On weekends late mornings at the dog park, located in Condon Park, 660 Minnie St., Grass Valley. Cost is $10.
— At the dog park any time by completing a form and attaching payment and dropping in the donation drop box. Cost is $12, including postage.
— At the Dogs Run Free website, dogsrunfree.net. Cost is $12 including postage, payable by credit card or PayPal.
— At Brunswick Veterinary Clinic, 131 Olympia Park Road, Grass Valley.
The calendar photography was donated by Bob White. Calendar sponsors include A Dog’s Vacation, Brunswick Veterinary Hospital, Four Paws Animal Clinic, Incredible Pets, Reed’s Locksmithing, River Dogs, Scraps and SPD Markets.
“These calendars make great holiday gifts or stocking stuffers,” said Andie Reed, board president of Dogs Run Free. “It is fun for our supporters to find their own dogs and others as calendar stars.”
Opened in 2011, Dogs Run Free off-leash dog park is 1.7 fully fenced acres of ponderosa pines and scrub oaks. It has a separate small/shy dog area, potable water and buckets for drinking year-round and a doggie pool area for swimming in the heat of the summer. Dogs Run Free is open daily sunup to sundown at no charge to the general public and is maintained 100 percent by volunteers and donations. Dogs Run Free is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
