County counsel

slated for raise

The Board of Supervisors are slated to give the County of Nevada County Counsel Rob Shulman a small raise of 2 percent today.

Shulman will be raised from approximately $137,800 to $140,500 per year effective July 1 if the board accepts the raise on its normally noncontroversial consent agenda.

When county workers got raises across the board last year, Shulman was not included. He will now be put on the salary increase schedule for county employees that raised their pay 14 percent over five years.

Shulman said he started as County Counsel in 2003 for $120,000 per year.
