Development, art topics of GV meetings

The Grass Valley City Council is hosting two town hall meetings and a separate arts meeting in the near future.

The first public forum for city residents will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building, 255 South Auburn St. The second will be at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Grass Valley Fire Hall, 213 Sierra College Drive.

Both forums will include city department reports on various issues and a review of development projects, according to Mayor Mark Johnson. There will also be open discussion on city topics, with comments and questions from the public and business owners encouraged.

The arts meeting will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Center For the Arts at 314 West Main St. in Grass Valley. Officials from Nevada County, Grass Valley, Nevada City and Truckee will discuss the arts and take input from citizens in a joint meeting of the county’s governments.
