Despair, experiences in war subject of 2 talks

The Rev. Doug Kraft will give a sermon on “Spirituality of Despair” at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains.

Kraft is minister of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento.

Bill Larsen will speak about his “Personal Experience of War” at 11 a.m. May 19.

Larsen is a local psychotherapist who has specialized in helping those suffering from the traumatic effects of war, violence and other forms of life-shattering experiences. He was wounded three times in the Vietnam War. Although it was more than 30 years ago, his combat experience in Southeast Asia and subsequent homecoming have greatly informed every aspect of his life.
