Del Oro mural fundraiser

A fund-raiser for the Del Oro mural project will be held on Sept. 19 in Grass Valley.

Theater owners Mike and Barbara Getz will be showing a new movie, “Bottle Shock,” at the historic theater at 7 p.m. that day. It’s at the corner of Mill and Neal streets in downtown Grass Valley.

It’s based on a story of how a California winery in 1976 changed international wine-drinking habits forever.

Lucchesi Vineyards and Winery are co-sponsoring the event and will provide wine tasting.

Sonoma County-based producers Marc and Brenda Lhormer will attend to introduce the movie and be available for questions after the show.

Admission is $15.

The mural is halfway finished and is being produced by Truckee artist John Pugh. The mural will be bonded to the Del Oro theater when it is done. The project is still in need of $15,000 to be complete.
