DarkHorse project changes considered

The Nevada County Planning Commission plans to consider Thursday night a General Plan amendment on the 1,050-acre DarkHorse project adjacent to the Placer County line on the Bear River and Lake of the Pines.

The amendment and some rezoning are to correct inaccurate acreage labels on the approved tentative parcel map, according to a report from the the county Planning Department.

The rezoning proposes to increase the 200 acres of recreation to 260 acres, decrease the 436 acres of open space to 390 acres, and decrease the 260 acres of residential to 250 acres.

The project includes a maximum of 330 dwelling units and a golf course.
