Cub Scouts to collect food for needy families

Cub Scouts will be hosting a food drive on between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday in front of the S.P.D. Market on Zion Street in Nevada City, said Mitch Yantis, a volunteer with the Cub Scouts.

The scouts of Pack 23 will be asking shoppers to contribute non-perishable food to the Interfaith Food Ministry in Grass Valley, which provides grocery sacks of staples to needy families in the area.
