Crash victim identified

The California Highway Patrol has identified the victim in a fatal crash Friday south of Grass Valley as Rhoda Little, 73, of Grass Valley.

Little was struck broadside on the driver’s side of her vehicle as she tried to turn left from La Barr Meadows Road onto southbound Highway 49 around 3:45 p.m., CHP spokesman Troy Marks said.

Little was struck by a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Highway 49. Three people were in the Acura driven by Zion Trout of Oroville. Trout and one of his passengers suffered minor injuries, and a third passenger, Trout’s 9-month old son, was not hurt in the collision.
