Crash survivors still critical

Two men who survived a fatal car crash on Highway 20 east of Nevada City Nov. 12 remain in critical condition, a supervising nurse at Sutter Roseville Medical Center said Sunday.

Samuel Miller, 23, of Nevada City, and Sean Sanford, 20, of Grass Valley, suffered head injuries when the Toyota station they were riding in drove off the highway near Lowell Hill Road and crashed into a tree.

A third victim, Ed Wessinger, 20, of Grass Valley was released last week, the supervising nurse said.

The driver, Brandin Klundt, 20, of Rough and Ready died at the crash scene.

Krystal Belmont, the 22-year-old Grass Valley woman critically injured in another crash on Highway 20 near Smartville Nov. 12, is now listed in fair condition at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, the supervising nurse said.
