Court summary

A Grass Valley-area man accused of molesting a girl under the age of 14 pleaded innocent Thursday in Nevada County Superior Court.

Wallace E. Tarp, 59, allegedly committed lewd acts between June and August 2000, and investigators were alerted last year.

In other cases:

— Josh R. Westberg, 19, of Grass Valley pleaded innocent to transporting marijuana and marijuana possession for sale.

The California Highway Patrol arrested him in August at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital while investigating a crash involving Westberg on Highway 20 at the Omega Rest Stop, CHP reported.

At the hospital, an officer learned a backpack containing 12 baggies of pot was stashed outside the hospital and was later linked to Westberg, according to the officer.

— Daniel H. Jauregui, 43, of Penn Valley, pleaded innocent Thursday to marijuana possession for sale.

Narcotics officers searched his home in September and found five mature plants, and Jauregui reported having a medical marijuana recommendation. Later, in an apartment inside a barn on the property, the search turned up 533 grams of marijuana divided into several packages, weigh scales and $295, according to the investigation report.
